What is VOTE and what is it used for?
VOTE is a web application for executing surveys. You can create a survey about a topic of your choice and add questions towards a certain direction. There are currently several questiontypes implemented, which can be added to a survey.
What is the sense and purpose of such an application?
VOTE is an application with a huge application spectrum. You can use VOTE, to: ● Vote with others about the next steps in your project. ● To get an opinion about an urgent issue of your choice. ● To get feedback and proposals to a special subject in your team. ● To make a presentation vivid and interactive. ● Keep up the discussion and communication about a certain subject.
Which question types are available? Which possibilities are there, to make a question?
There are currently five different question types available: 'Single Choice', 'Multiple Choice', 'Free Text', 'Word Cloud' and 'Slider' ● Single Choice: the participant can choose exactly one option as an answer. ● Multiple Choice: the participant can choose a single or more options as an answer. ● Free Text: the participant can answer the question through an text answer. ● Word-Cloud: The participant can submit one word as an answer. Participants can add more answers afterwards. (Same goes for Free-Text questions) ● Slider: Participants can move a slider, to express how much they agree / liked a thing / etc. For each questiontype various possibilities for settings are furthermore at your disposal. Which setting possibilities are available for single choice and multiple choice questions?
For single and multiple choice is the following setting available: ● Conditional Question: the admin of the survey has the option to add an additional question for the participant if he choose a specific option. E.g. 'How would you rate this App?':nFrom the options 'Good', 'Ok', 'Bad' the participant chooses the option 'Bad'. With this chosen, the maker of the survey can ask an additional question like for example 'What did you not like about this application?'
Which settings are available for free text answer?
For free text answer there are the following setting possibilities: ● A One-Word Summary: A hashtag or and/or short title can be given to the answer. ● An Alias: The participant can add an author name to their answer to be able to find their answer later in the evaluation (no personal data!). ● The Upvotes: Enables the ability to be able to give a thumbs up to answers later in the analysis and to sort the answers according to their popularity.
How can i control, who is allowed to participate in my survey?
You alone decide, to who you offer the link or QR code for a running survey. To additionally secure the survey, you can add a password to your survey. This the users have to enter if they want to participate in the survey or see the analysis of it.
How can i control, who is allowed to participate in my survey?
The creater will get an email with all neccessary information about the survey. The content will in particular be the survey-id and a qr-code, with which the participants can get to the survey.
How can i administrate a created survey?
You can administrate a survey separatly inside of the admin area. There you can find an overview to the running survey and the possibility eg. to enable single questions, reset the survey, set timers for the survey and to close single questions of the survey.
When does a survey end?
A survey ends, wenn the selected time range has passed. This time range can be set by the admin in "Advanced Settings". The admin can also close questions through different functions individually.
Can i change a survey, after it has been created?
Yes, this is a feature of the app. In the admin area of your survey, you can adapt various parameters also while the survey is running. If some basic data of a survey should be changed (eg. title, questions...) the whole survey will be recreated and reset. Though, the user will receive a warning before committing the changes.
Wihch options are there, to close the questions of the survey by time?
There are the following options, to do so: ● Open for: The survey exists for the chosen time range. ● Cascade: The questions are opened one after another for the chosen time range and are only processible for this time range. After this the question is closed and the next one is processible for the same time range.
What possibilities are there, to set the visibility and accessibility of the analysis?
There are three different possibilities in total, how an analysis is proceeded. ● To all, after submit Vote(s): Without exception, after all votes have been recieved, will be set visible to all participants including the admin. ● To all, after survey is closed: Without exception, will be sent to all participants including the admin after the survey has been closed. ● For admin only: Merely set visible for the creater of the survey. You find the setting in the admin area under controls under the description Analysectrl.
Is VOTE usable for people with impared perception?
We support impared people and would like that everyone can use our application. Thus VOTE is designed accessible with WCAG standards.
Where can i see if all needed participants voted already?
A overview if 'all' participants voted is only available for surveys with individual one-time codes activated. In this case you can see the overview in the info-tab in the admin page in the invite codes - line.
Is the multiple participation ruled out?
For the multiple participation are two different settings available: ●with cookies: the multiple participation is checked here via a cookie. The unique participation is safe, if the user opens the survey in the same browser on the same device again. Otherwise the user can particpate again. (UseCase e.g. Surveys, where particpants use their phones.) ●individual one-time codes: in this setting the admin enters the mail addresses from the participants in the creation. Each of them receives a participation code, which is valid till the user completes a survey.
Do i receive a final report after the survey ended?
No, cause we don't save any mail addresses. But you can receive a report in the print area within the analysis page. You can also export the survey results in multiple formats. More about that: https://vote.telekom.net/guide?chapter=2.1.3.0
Is there a preferred or undesired browser?
desired: chrome, safari & firefox We do NOT support Internet Explorer.
